  If you find a coyote in your yard, follow these steps

1. Bring your pets and family members inside.
2. Leave the coyote alone or use scare tactics like loud noises.
3. Call a professional if the coyote doesn’t leave.
4. To prevent coyotes, eliminate food sources, trim bushes, install bright lights, and build a high fence.
5. Signs of coyotes nearby include scat, tracks, howls, and damage to property.
